Brian J. Kearney graduated from Concord College in 1982 with a Major in History and Political Science and from Washington & Lee School of Law in 1986. He graduated magna cum laude and was awarded the Order of the Coif.
Brian was admitted to the Virginia State Bar in 1986 and he's been practicing in the Buena Vista, Lexington, Rockbridge County area since 1987. He is a partner in the law firm of Heslep & Kearney, P.C.
Brian concentrates his practice in Real Estate, Commercial Transactions, Estate Planning, Governmental Law and Business.
Over the past 30 years he has been involved in several thousand real estate transactions; from the sale of a home to the development of subdivisions to multi-million dollar commercial transactions. He has also formed and advised a variety of business clients. His representation has included sole proprietorship to multi-jurisdictional enterprises.
Brian has had the honor of serving the City of Buena Vista as its City Attorney since 2004. He looks forward to continuing in that capacity. As City Attorney he has been exposed to a wide variety of governmental issues, which experience he can bring to his private practice.
W. Wayne Heslep was born and raised in Rockbridge County, Virginia. He graduated from Washington and Lee University in 1973 and the Washington and Lee University School of Law in 1976. He began practicing law in Lexington following graduation and has practiced extensively throughout the Shenandoah Valley ever since.
Mr. Heslep is a partner in the law firm of Heslep & Kearney, P.C. and has maintained an A rating from Martindale Hubbell for many years. He practices primarily in the area of Civil Litigation, Business, Banking, Real Estate and Land Use matters. He also has extensive experience in local government law having served as special counsel for several local governmental agencies and as the County, Town and City attorney for a number of Counties over the years.
In addition to all Virginia State Courts Mr. Heslep is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia, The United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.
